Review guidelines
Reviews help people in Cayman choose with confidence. These guidelines apply to every review, review reply and report on CayBook, and form part of our Terms.
Who can review
Only customers with a completed CayBook booking can review that business or host, and only once per booking. You can review once the booking is marked complete. Each review should describe your own first-hand experience of that booking.
What makes a helpful review
- Be specific: what you booked, when, and what went well or didn't.
- Be honest and fair, and keep the focus on the service, not on individuals' personal traits.
- Keep it current: describe this visit, not one from years ago.
What isn't allowed
- False or misleading claims.
- Abuse, threats, hate speech, discrimination or harassment.
- Personal information, such as phone numbers, emails, addresses, staff surnames, booking references or photos of people without their consent.
- Conflicts of interest, such as reviewing your own business, a competitor, or a business you work for, are related to, or have a close personal connection with.
- Reviews given in exchange for a discount, gift, payment, credit or other incentive. Businesses must not offer incentives for reviews, or ask only happy customers to leave them.
- Spam, ads, links, or promotion of other businesses.
- Content about health or safety allegations that you didn't experience yourself.
- Content that is off-topic, sexually explicit, unlawful, or otherwise breaks our Terms.
What we don't remove
We don't remove reviews just because they're negative, critical, or the business disagrees with them. Businesses can't pay to remove or hide reviews, and ratings aren't affected by advertising or featured placements.
How to report a review
Select "Report" under the review, choose a reason and add any details. You need to be signed in to report. Our team checks every report against these guidelines. If a review breaks them, we remove it or ask the author to edit it. If it doesn't, it stays up. We may contact the author or the business for more information.
How businesses can reply
Businesses and hosts can post one public reply to each review from their Vendor Hub. Replies should be polite and factual, and must not include the customer's personal information or booking details. Replies follow the same rules as reviews.
Editing and deleting
You can contact us at bookings@caybook.com to edit or remove your own review. If you delete your account, your reviews stay on CayBook but are anonymised.
Enforcement
If these guidelines are broken, we may remove reviews or replies, limit reviewing, or suspend accounts or listings. If we find fake or incentivised reviews, we may label the listing or remove it.
